Question: How long will Milestone play on a full battery charge?

Answer: Milestone 312 is equipped with a powerful rechargeable lithium polymer battery. Maximal playback duration is between 15 and 20 hours. You reach this value if you listen to music or a book over headphones with standard reading speed and a medium volume level. Please be aware that listening over the integrated speaker needs more energy. Also reading of text files, high reading rates and high volume levels need more energy and accordingly result in less playback time.


Question: What is behind the 4 different battery levels Milestone is announcing?

Answer: Milestone 312 announces 4 different battery levels:
1. Charge battery urgently. This corresponds to a charging level of 0 to 15%.
2. Please charge battery. This corresponds to a charging level of 15 to 40%.
3. Battery charged. This corresponds to a charging level of 40 to 90%.
4. Battery fully charged. This corresponds to a charging level of 90 to 100%.
 

Question: How long does it take to recharge Milestones battery?

Answer: Maximum charging time with the recharger is 3 hours. 

 
Question: My battery becomes warm when recharging. Is that ok?

Answer: Yes. It is normal that the battery becomes warm during the recharge process. 

 
Question: Can I quickly get battery status without listening to all the Information service?

Answer: Yes. To have quick access to the battery charge status of your Milestone, please enter the menu by pressing „Mode“ for 1.5 seconds. As soon as Milestone starts to announce menu information, push and hold „Selector“ and push „Mode“ additionally. Milestone directly announces the battery charge status then, no matter in which application you currently are.

 
Question: Will the battery charge through the USB port?

Answer: Yes. If you want to recharge Milestone via USB connection, it takes up to 6 hours.

 
Question: Will I lose any bookmarks or player settings if I allow the battery to fully deplete?

Answer: No. Milestone saves all bookmarks and settings. When the player senses the battery is very nearly depleted it will save all settings and automatically power off.

 
Question: Can I obtain a spare battery for Milestone?

Answer: No. As you cannot access the battery in Milestone, it needs to be changed by authorized staff in the regular repair process.

 
Question: How long does Milestones battery last if the device is in stand-by mode?

Answer: Milestone stand-by time is approximately one year.


Question: Is it possible to recharge Milestone with an external battery?

Answer: Basically it is possible to charge Milestone 312 on the way via an external USB battery. It will just be plugged into Milestones mini USB port with a regular USB cable and then energizes Milestone.
Such external USB batteries are available in electronic markets.

To recharge the external battery and Milestone simultaneously at the power outlet, please connect the external battery via charging cable with the power outlet and then connect Milestone via USB cable with the external battery.
