Helen. The deaf-blind alarm clock. Over 100 years ago, Helen Keller made her university degree despite deaf-blindness. She inspired many people by taking countless hurdles and she inspired us to name the latest Bones creation "Helen". The deaf-blind alarm clock Helen helps now deaf-blinds worldwide to master at least some obstacles of everyday life. With Helen, the deaf-blind user gets up on time in the morning. During the day Helen informs about the current time and with the integrated timer one can be reminded of an event in everyday life - for instance in the kitchen or for public transportation. Helen does not use fragile watch hands, but offers the user very tactile and big buttons. Simple but efficient vibration signals announce the time and the last made adjustments. An independent setting of the alarm or timer is therefore possible for the deaf-blind user. In addition to the vibration signals, a voice announcement can be activated, for example, to ease the work of a trainer during a course of instruction. For the alarm clock an external pillow shaker is provided additionally. It can be connected to Helen and guarantees waking up by its strong vibration. Helen, despite of its large buttons, has just the size of a credit card and thus is ideal as a daily companion for ones pocket.
