The Milestone 212 is the little brother of Milestone 312 and is a primarily Book Reader, which unlocks the world of digital talking books for you. Milestone 212 focuses on simplicity and ease of operation. To that end, the Milestone 212 passes on the bells and whistles in favor of providing a simple and intuitive reading experience. There it truly excels, enabling you to dive right into the world of your favorite audio books without spending hours with our manual, unless that is something you want to read.
This ruby red book reader, in its traditional Milestone casing, supports all popular formats including DAISY 2.02 and 3.0, AA/AAX from Audible.com, unprotected EPUB 2.0.1 and books from NLS & Bookshare. Needless to say, reading speed can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
Besides the book reading application, Milestone 212 includes a fully-fledged music & text player and a voice recording application: All the popular music file formats are supported (MP3, WMA, AAC, M4A, WAV and others). High quality TTS (text-to-speech) from Acapela enables you to read text files directly with your Milestone 212, and – of course – you can record hours of high quality material using the built-in microphone or an external microphone.

Add-Ons.

Milestone 212 is compatible to some of the Milestone Add-Ons. Add-Ons consist of a hardware attachment that snaps onto the front of your Milestone, and accompanying software, to make the Milestone useful in even more types of daily life situations. With the Add-On "Fame" your Milestone becomes a color reader and light detector. and with the "Milestone CD Drive" you can copy music and data CDs directly to Milestone without the need of a computer. Therefore, Milestone 212 in combination with the Milestone CD Drive becomes totally independent of a computer.

Hardware.

Milestone 212 is based on the same hardware as Milestone 312. The integrated USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection ensures that all files are copied between your Milestone 212 and your computer in a flash. The Milestone can read SD and SDHC cards up to 32GB in size, allowing you to carry a virtually unlimited amount of books, audio books and other material with you wherever you go.
