To our distributors and customers. Neuhausen, 6th April 2009. Release Notes Software 3.2 for Milestone 311. Dear Milestone customer and distributor, Software 3.2 for Milestone 311 is ready as of now. Incorporated are improvements in the areas of voice recording, Daisy book playback and general handling. As always, the software is separated from the specific language for Milestone 311. The software can be loaded on any existing Milestone 311. Your personal settings as well as the presence of Daisy or Speakout software is not touched and will not be affected. To do the actual update please do as follows: Connect your Milestone 311 via USB to a computer. Milestone 311 appears as additional drive. Copy the file MSW.BIN into the root directory. It does not matter if this takes place in the internal or external memory. Now release the USB connection. The rest is done automatically, within 30 seconds. The update file is removed automatically afterwards. The software is quite small in size, since it is decoupled from the language. Therefore, the software can easily be sent by email to other users. Alternatively, it can be sent by post on an SD card. In this case, upgradeing starts automatically upon entering the card into Milestone 311. We wish you continuous success and joy with Milestone 311. With best regards, Bones Inc., Switzerland Release Notes Software 3.2 for Milestone 311. Nr. Thema Beschreibung Bemerkung 1. Resume position in MP3 player. Before, the resume position in the MP3 players has been lost occassionally. This has been corrected now. The problem occured only if Milestone 311 was connected to a charger and had a full battery already. 2 Pauseing long records. A long record (continuous record) can be paused by pressing Play. This is signalled now accoustically. To continue the record, press Play again. The pause function was present before already, but due to the absence of an accoustic feedback, many customers did not like to use it. 3 Line-In long records. Stereo recordings via line-in were recorded on left channel only, if pause was used. This has been corrected. 4 Daisy tolerance: Structures. Daisy books with mistakes in control files are treated more tolerant and played back. Improved is the non-standard implementation of navigation elements within NCC.HTML and *.SMIL. 5 Daisy tolerance: Single phrase SMILs. Daisy books with missing phrase index are played back now. Daisy books with missing phrase information in SMIL files (because the whole MP3 file is treated as one big phrase) are played back correctly now. 6 Folder announcement. Folders with index bigger than 9 are announced now (10, 11, etcetera). Limit is 59 folders, as only numbers from 0 to 59 are stored and can be played back. Bones Inc.
