Opening Notes 6.6: - Audio: Text reader added support for UTF-8 coding. - Books: In some Swedish books, the remaining time was not announced properly. This has been corrected. - Books Download via WiFi: Added the two additional German libraries WBH and Blista. - Lua: Serial number inquiry now 6 digits without trailing zero character. This created an error beforehand. - Books Download via WiFi: Books download for Anders Lezen/Belgium was partially interrupt due to slow server response. This has been fixed with an increased server timeout of 30s. - Audio Milestone 212 Ace: Corrected a problem that prevented copying voice records from internal memory to SD card in case of messages with 0 seconds duration. Opening Notes 6.5: - Online access has been extended to many more libraries. The following are now accessible: DZB Leipzig, NBH Hamburg, ATZ Hanover, DKBB at Bonn, SBS Zurich, BSBO Vienna, NLB Oslo, MTM Sweden, DZDN Warsaw, Anderslezen Belgium and Pazend Lezen Netherlands. - The popular electronic kiosk of the Swiss Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired has been perfectly integrated. Here you can choose from over 80 daily newspapers and magazines and download them at lightning speed. - The Online Library menu item has been moved to "Books". There it is more logically represented. The previous "Internet" setting is a pure weather query now and hence is called that way. A specific library can be selected under "Local Settings" under Books. You can also enter the username and password for the library there, starting with the left arrow. - Online libraries: The access data for a library can now alternatively be entered with a text file called "lib.txt". In this file there must be three lines with the name of the library, the username and its password. The name of a library must match the entry in the CONFIG MILESTONE.TXT file, for example DZB_Leipzig or NBH_Hamburg. - Online access to libraries: A quick switch between libraries can be made in the main menu with the selector and arrow key at the online library menu point. Only libraries for which a login is available are displayed. - Online libraries: If a book is returned to the library, i.e. if a book is deleted from the bookshelf of the library server, it will also be deleted on Milestone so that the space can be made available again. - Books: The book player has been greatly improved once again. Major improvements were realized in various book formats, notably DAISY 3.0, EPUB and protected-DAISY 3.0 as used by NLS/USA. Purely spoken DAISY 2.02 books are also fully supported. Unusually created formats are also supported, complex layer structures are correctly mapped, and books with mixed spoken/written content are fully rendered. - Books: If the volume was changed exactly at the end of the phrase, it happened in rare cases that playback paused and had to be continued manually. This is fixed. - Books: After completing an Audible book, you had to manually press Stop or Milestone would not go to sleep. This is fixed. - General: Prompts are no longer truncated at faster prompt playback speed, but spoken out in full. - General: The speech output is more fluid and the latency for messages is shorter. - Colorimeter Add-On: A problem with FaMe that made it impossible to use older models has been corrected. Now all FaMe products are working again. In addition, the start after attaching has been accelerated. - Lua: Lua was provided with online functions and some system functions. See the updated documentation at Lua for details. - Agenda: All-day appointments are announced again. - Web radio: Full-text search for stations also takes the "Own list" into account, and does so first. After that, the search continues in the general (and very large) database. - Web radio: The full-text search can be interrupted by pressing any key. - Roast thermometer NineRoast: Milestone no longer switches itself off after 10 minutes of independent measurement if a target temperature has been entered. Opening Notes 6.4: Webradio: - Imported radio station packages appear at the beginning of of the users own list, not at the end anymore. - Stations of the users own list can be put to the list of preselected favorit stations. Timer: - The timer makes 5 minute jumps, when incremented with arrows and selector button in addition Online book download: - In addition to DZB Leipzig, 7 additional libraries are supported: NBH Hamburg, ATZ Hannover, BSVO Vienna, DZDN Warsaw, NLB Oslo, Anderslezen Belgium and Dedicon Amsterdam. - Search results of book titles can be browsed in steps of 10 by pressing selector in addition to arrows. Books: - Books with wrong phrase index were not played before. Now there is tolerance against such books and they play. - The selected width for timejump is kept, even if the unit powers down. Opening Notes 6.3: Webradio: - Own web radio links can be added, in a file called 'links.txt' in folder 'Webradio'. In this file, enter the name of the station in quotes, then after a blank add the http link. - Own web radio stations are read in via PAK files, all in one go. They then appear under "My lists". Examples of PAKs on our website in the support area. - You can also save your own stations as favorites. These then end up as plain text links in the CONFIG MILESTONE.TXT file. - As a further option, your own links can be entered directly in the CONFIG MILESTONE.TXT file. - The number of possible web radio favorites has been increased from 20 to 50. Weather information: - Weather forecasts are corrected for day and night times. Before that, they had been postponed by a few hours. Books: - Fast winding possible again in DAISY books. With constant pressure, jumps of 10 seconds are made 5 times. Then minute jumps. - Bookmarks had a problem before. This has been corrected. - Audible can be reliably activated with Milestone 312Ace and Milestone 212Ace, with the AudibleSync app. The Amazon account must be used for this. General: - Occasional spontaneous starts are gone. These weren't actually starts, but crashes during shutdown, with an immediate warm start. That is fixed. - Prompts are all translated into all languages. - Woodscan's license expiry can be queried in local settings. - Lua was extended by the command event.lang () to return the language setting of the Milestone and to branch accordingly. The ISO country code follows with two letters. - The click sound during voice recording now comes correctly every time, even with successive recordings. - The updater for the WiFi firmware is contained in this firmware. This means that the WiFi firmware can be updated in the future. In the starting position is a new WiFi firmware 4.2, which supports https / SSL and improves Bluetooth. - Milestone 212Ace can now rewind audio files again. - Milestone 212Ace has a correct continuation point in audio files again. Opening Notes 6.2: WiFi: - New with WiFi connection to the Online library DZB Leipzig in Germany, for selecting and downloading books. - The selection of networks and passwords with special characters (comma, etc.) is now possible. - The MAC address is displayed in the CONFIG. That has been corrected. - Book titles are no longer announced every time a book is started, but only when a book is changed or a pause of more than 5 minutes. - Time jumps and phrase jumps were sometimes imprecise. That has been corrected. - Alarm clock: It was not always possible to interrupt books at the alarm time. This has been corrected. - Audio: Playback of Word DOC documents is active again. - General: The prompts are integrated into the firmware, as numerous prompts were added in the course of WiFi development. This eases updating. - Lua: Background sounds were sometimes played with crackles. That's fixed. Opening Notes 6.1: - New with WiFi and Bluetooth functionality. In the case of Milestone 312 Ace without integrated WiFi hardware, this is automatically hidden. - Audio: It was sometimes not possible to delete voice memos. That has been corrected. Books: - The initialization of books the first time they are played has been massively shortened. - Chapter jumps, phrase jumps and time jumps corrected. - DAISY MP3 files with embedded data, for example pictures, are played correctly. - Backward jumps have been corrected, as jumping was sometimes impossible with very short phrases. - Deleting books is activated again. - Announcement of the remaining time for Audible books improved. - Silent alarm with only vibration works correctly. - Alarm clock: snooze function corrected by turning Milestone. Opening Notes 6.0: - General: All languages can be selected immediately in the language selection. There are currently 66 voices in a total of 17 languages. Books: - Completely newly created book player, based on the forward concept: the entire book is run through completely the first time it is played and checked for structures and errors. You can then navigate in it very quickly. - Full support for EPUB books, with no reliance on DAISY structures. - In the Bookshelf menu, you can press and hold the selector to select books using a directory structure, instead of going through all the books one after the other. This makes it much easier to find an edition of periodicals, for example. The folder names are read out. - Audible now also has mono books. These were previously played at the wrong speed. That is fixed. Audio: - Introduction of a copy-paste function: deleted files can be inserted in a new place by pressing the delete key combination again for 5 seconds. - The above copy-paste function is also an undo function if the file is inserted at the same point. - Calendar: In rare cases the week number of the year was incorrectly calculated. That is fixed. - Lua: The Lua libraries can now also be in the hidden memory (secret memory). This leaves more order in the main memory. - NineRoast: The new product NineRoast is supported: Our attachable meat thermometer for roasting and grilling. General: - Folder names were sometimes not completely spoken to the end. That is fixed. Releae Notes 5.8: - Improved stability: Upgraded writing procedure in case of a defective memory. Releae Notes 5.6: - Lua as programming interface. This opens the possibility of building own programs and run them on Milestone 312 Ace. - The synthetic speech speaks very fluid now, even at fast playback. - The volume of the synthetic speech is in balance with the signal sounds. - Longer battery runtime. - Anti-vibration: The built-in speaker lowers frequencies around 500 Hertz, which reduces possible vibration of the keyboard. - MP3 files with very low sampling rates now played correctly. Releae Notes 5.5: - Battery: A problem that prevented charging of deeply discharged batteries is solved, - Audio: Click-sound at beginning of a record sometimes did not appear. This is corrected, - Clock: The stopwatch now continues to run even if Milestone switches off, - Radio: RDS station recognition activated. Pressing the mode key during playback announces the station name, or the frequency if station name is not known, - Calendar: Weekday is being announced again in the event browser, as well as the week number at the event preview. Releae Notes 5.4: - Feature Flip Alarm: Upon wake sound, flipping device postpones ringing for 5 minutes (snooze function), - Radio: Slight tick sounds in playback eliminated, - Radio: Transmission now also possible at frequencies 87.5 and 108.0 Megahertz, - Radio: Transmission now at higher power due to automatic measurement of headphone impedance.
